Valley of Fire State Park

The Valley of Fire State Park, dedicated in 1935, is the largest and oldest Nevada state park. The beautiful red sandstone formations, formed 150 million years ago, are the focal point in the park. Prehistoric dwellers included the Basket Maker people and the Anasazi Pueblo farmers. Bring your camera to capture the petroglyphs on Atlantl Rock, view Arch Rock, Elephant Rock, Mouse's Tank, the Beehives, the Clark Memorial and the Petrified Logs.
Enjoy hiking through the Mojave Desert on a variety of trails or pack a picnic, to enjoy under one of the shelters. Spend a few moments in the Visitor Center to learn about the park's history through the interpretive displays. Drive approximately 33 miles to Mesquite and rest comfortably at the Best Western Mesquite Inn. Discover Southern Nevada's treasures.
